Matteo Bassetti – Il Prof. Matteo Bassetti, direttore della Clinica di Malattie infettive dell’ospedale San Martino di Genova e componente della task force Covid-19 della Liguria, ha parlato ai microfoni di RAI 1 durante Domenica In, tornando anche sulle polemiche sulla sicurezza dei vaccini scatenate dalle dichiarazioni del virologo Andrea Crisanti cauto sui dati fin qui avuti dalle aziende:

“La situazione ha visto un rallentamento del numero di contagi. Pian piano ci auguriamo di vedere un beneficio negli ospedali. Ci vorranno almeno 2-3 settimane però. Chi è attualmente ricoverato andrà dimesso piano piano. Sicuramente queste misure restrittive hanno avuto delle note positive. Credo che ai primi di dicembre dovremmo avere delle prime avvisaglie di rallentamento della crisi ospedaliera”

“Numero di decessi? I morti ci sono ovviamente e purtroppo. Stanno morendo persone in tutta Italia, a differenza di quanto accaduto nella prima fase dell’epidemia dove i decessi si erano concentrati in alcune regioni. Diciamo che la media giornaliera è ahimè intorno ai 600-700 morti. Certamente dobbaimo piangere tutte le persone che sono morte”.

“Ma in Italia tutti i giorni muoiono circa 2000 persone. Una quota parte di queste persone muore per problemi respiratori. Il Covid sta dando numerosi problemi, ma si è preso anche una parte di altre infezioni che oggi non stiamo vedendo. Non vediamo gli altri agenti di polmonite, gli altri virus influenzali”.

“Vaccino anti influenzale? Quello che dovremmo fare oggi sarebbe uno sforzo per far fare i vaccini. In Italia si sta parlando tanto dei vaccini, è venuta fuori la componente di chi è scettico sui vaccini. Se uno ha dubbi sul vaccino non dovrebbe enunciarli pubblicamente”.

“Se ci fosse il vaccino io per esempio lo avrei già fatto. I miei colleghi non aspettano altro che avere questa professione. Chi ha fatto delle infelici affermazioni va stigmatizzato. Credo che l’affermazione di un mio collega che ha detto di voler aspettare prima di farsi il vaccino, sia molto infelice”.

“Problema ospedali? Noi oggi stiamo vedendo una riduzione dei contagi. Per vedere una riduzione della pressione sugli ospedali ci vorrà qualche settimana. Credo però che la situazione sia molto diversa in base alle regioni italiane.

“Devo dire una cosa importante agli italiani. Questa è una infezione che nel 5% dei casi ha bisogno che il paziente vada in ospedale. Nel 95% dei casi il Covid si può curare a casa. Quello che è successo dopo la prima fase non è vero. Ci sono molte persone che hanno il Covid che hanno davvero una sindrome simil-influenzale. E’ chiaro che se dopo 3-4 giorni che stai a casa e hai ancora la febbre, difficoltà a respirare, il saturimetro segna sotto 90. Allora in quel caso si deve andare in ospedale”.

“Abbiamo terrorizzato la gente in questi mesi. La gente pensa che tenendosi le bombole d’ossigeno in casa e non restituendole alle farmacie, si è più protetti in caso di contagio futuro. Siamo alla follia”.
