“Io resto molto prudente, ma i nostri esperti del Cts ci dicono che la curva dei contagi si va stabilizzando. È ancora presto per dirlo, aspettiamo altri dati, ma ci sono valide ragioni per credere che le ultime misure che abbiamo adottato comincino a dare qualche risultato…”.

Così in un colloquio con La Stampa il ministro della Salute, Roberto Speranza.

“Se questo è vero – spiega – si conferma la validità della strategia che abbiamo adottato, che alla fine è molto chiara: vogliamo governare la curva, senza arrivare al lockdown totale. E si conferma la necessità di non mollare adesso: i prossimi sette-dieci giorni saranno decisivi, e ci diranno se la divisione del Paese in tre zone, e il meccanismo sostanzialmente automatico delle restrizioni regione per regione, sta dando i frutti che tutti speriamo“.

Riguardo alle terapie intensive, continua Speranza, “se guardiamo alla media mobile dell’ultima settimana ci siamo assestati intorno a quota 100. Se ci stabilizziamo su questi livelli anche la settimana prossima, abbiamo fondate ragioni per ritenere che siamo arrivati al cosiddetto ‘plateau’, che equivale poi a un indice Rt uguale a 1. Il nostro auspicio è che nella settimana ancora successiva, grazie alle ultime ordinanze sull’allargamento della zona rossa, l’indice possa scendere sotto 1. A quel punto i pazienti che escono saranno più di quelli che entrano, e il sistema torna ad essere perfettamente sostenibile”.

Speranza intervista, le parole sul Natale

“Il Natale? Capisco che le Feste siano un momento importante, per tutti gli italiani. E vedo che molti, anche nel governo, si esercitano sul tema. Ma diciamolo con chiarezza: a Natale mancano quaranta giorni, che sul piano epidemiologico sono un tempo molto lungo. È su come saranno andati, lunedì prossimo, la curva dei contagi, le terapie intensive, l’indice Rt, le altre aree mediche al di fuori del Covid che ci giochiamo tutto, non sul cenone del 24 dicembre, con o senza i nonni o i parenti di primo grado. Questa, per me, è davvero una discussione lunare. Per questo chiedo a tutti gli italiani di tenere i piedi ben piantati sulla terra“, conclude Speranza.

Era meglio fare il lockdown come a marzo, allora? A questa domanda il ministro della Salute ribatte dicendo di capire bene chi lo dice o lo proponeva. Poi, però, afferma che “obiettivamente oggi la situazione è diversa da marzo. Non avevamo le mascherine, non avevamo le terapie intensive, non avevamo protocolli farmacologici. Oggi siamo in difficoltà, su qualche fronte siamo anche in ritardo, ma non combattiamo a mani nude come sette mesi fa”.

E spiega: “Negli ultimi mesi abbiamo avuto il cosiddetto aumento esponenziale di terapie intensive. Un giorno 20 ricoveri, il giorno dopo 40, quello dopo ancora 80, e poi 120, e cosi’ via. A questi ritmi è chiaro che il sistema non regge. Ma se guardiamo alla media mobile dell’ultima settimana ci siamo assestati intorno a quota 100. Se ci stabilizziamo su questi livelli anche la settimana prossima, abbiamo fondate ragioni per ritenere che siamo arrivati al cosiddetto “plateau”, che equivale poi a un indice Rt uguale a 1″, assicura.

Ciò significa, per Speranza, che “per ogni nuovo contagiato che entra in intensiva un altro ne esce. Il nostro auspicio è che nella settimana ancora successiva, grazie alle ultime ordinanze sull’allargamento della zona rossa, l’indice possa scendere sotto 1. A quel punto i pazienti che escono saranno più di quelli che entrano, e il sistema torna ad essere perfettamente sostenibile“, ha concluso Speranza l’intervista.
