Già martedì Papa Francesco ha dovuto modificare i programmi papali a causa delle restrizioni anti Covid. La benedizione per la festa dell’Immacolata in piazza di Spagna si è tenuta infatti alle 7:30 nel giorno dell’Immacolata, per evitare assembramenti. Queste le sue parole rilasciate in questa circostanza:
“Dio è paziente, ma noi possiamo ingannare gli uomini, Dio no”. Quindi “attenzione. Non vale fare i furbi: rimandare continuamente un serio esame della propria vita, approfittando della pazienza del Signore”. Lo ha ricordato Papa Francesco all’Angelus di oggi. “Approfittiamo del momento presente”, ha aggiunto, “Questo sì è il senso cristiano del ‘carpe diem’. Non godere la vita nell’attimo che fugge, no, questo è il senso mondano. Ma cogliere l’oggi per dire “no” al male e “sì” a Dio; aprirsi alla sua Grazia; smetterla finalmente di ripiegarsi su sé stessi trascinandosi nell’ipocrisia. Guardare in faccia la propria realtà, riconoscere che non abbiamo amato Dio e il prossimo come dovevamo. E confessarlo, iniziare un cammino di conversione chiedendo prima di tutto perdono a Dio nel Sacramento della Riconciliazione, e poi riparare il male fatto agli altri”.
