Festività di dicembre in tutto il mondo, il caso Ungheria. Anche quest’anno è arrivato il mese di dicembre. Mese che solitamente porta in tutte le persone felicità e voglia di stare insieme con parenti e amici. Quest’anno a causa della pandemia Covid-19 sarà ovviamente festeggiato tutto in tono molto minore. Ma almeno per i bambini, la magia del periodo natalizio non scomparirà del tutto.
In tutto il mondo le festività di dicembre sono tra le più sentite, ma oggi in particolare ci soffermiamo sull’Ungheria. Si tratta di uno dei paesi europei con più storia insieme all’Italia.
Dato che i due terzi della popolazione sono cattolici, il Natale è una festa molto sentita in Ungheria. In Ungheria, come in altri paesi, oltre al 24 e 25 dicembre, sono molto sentite anche le celebrazioni del 6 dicembre (San Nicola) e del 13 dicembre (Santa Lucia).

La tradizione dell’albero di Natale in Ungheria
In Ungheria è consuetudine decorare l’albero di Natale, chiamato karácsonyfa, con noci dorate, fiocchi, candele e alcune caramelle chiamate szaloncukrok. La stranezza però è che tale gesto viene effettuato solo alla vigilia di Natale, il 24 dicembre.
È tradizione che debbano essere gli adulti e non i bambini a prepararlo. Una volta preparato, l’albero i bambini vengono avvisati dai genitori, che per mezzo di un campanello, annunciano l’arrivo dei doni.
Le tradizioni del giorno di San Nicola
Il 6 dicembre, giorno di San Nicola, compare Mikulás, una raffigurazione del santo, che regala dolci ai bambini buoni e fraschette dorate ai bambini cattivi.
Come avviene in Tirolo e in Alto Adige in Italia, anche in Ungheria il santo è tradizionalmente accompagnato dalla figura del demone Krampusz munita di frusta.

Il 13 dicembre, giorno di Santa Lucia, era un tempo diffusa l’abitudine per cui alcuni bambini giravano per le strade recitando formule magiche allo scopo di favorire la fertilità.
Inoltre si iniziava a costruire la cosiddetta “sedia di Santa Lucia“, che veniva realizzata con nove tipi di legni diversi e la cui costruzione doveva terminare il giorno di Natale.
