Donato Bilancia morto col Covid – Donato Bilancia, serial killer condannato a 13 ergastoli per diciassette omicidi e 16 anni per un tentato omicidio, è morto per Covid al carcere Due Palazzi di Padova. I delitti attribuiti a Bilancia sono avvenuti tra il 1997 e il 1998 tra la Liguria e il Piemonte.

L’uomo scontò i primi anni di prigione al carcere di Marassi a Genova, per poi essere trasferito a Padova negli ultimi anni. Era soprannominato “il mostro dei treni” o “il serial killer delle prostitute”.
Venne arrestato nel 1998, a tradirlo fu l’auto usata per alcuni suoi spostamenti. Era nato a Potenza nel 1951. A riportare la notizia è l’Huffinghton Post.

Wikipedia invece scrive così in merito al suo arresto:

“La svolta nel caso avvenne quando giunse ai carabinieri una notizia, apparentemente insignificante, riguardo l’auto venduta a Bilancia dall’amico Pino Monello che, ignaro dei suoi crimini, si recò in procura per denunciare la mancata formalizzazione del passaggio di proprietà e per contestare una serie di multe ricevute per il mancato pagamento di pedaggi autostradali: Bilancia aveva il vizio di accodarsi con la propria auto a quella che lo precedeva per evitare di pagare il pedaggio, e la targa fu ripetutamente segnalata.

I Carabinieri scoprirono una corrispondenza quasi perfetta tra Bilancia e l’identikit creato in base alla descrizione data da Lorena; inoltre le tracce degli pneumatici sulle scene di alcuni degli omicidi erano perfettamente compatibili con quelle della Mercedes, così come la prova del DNA di Bilancia confrontato con quello rinvenuto sul corpo di Maria Angela Rubino.

Donato Bilancia venne arrestato il 6 maggio 1998 dai Carabinieri all’uscita dell’ospedale San Martino di Genova, senza che opponesse resistenza; dopo pochi giorni rese confessione spontanea di tutti gli omicidi, attribuendosi anche il delitto di Giorgio Centanaro, archiviato come morte naturale”.
