Scozia lockdown – La decisione della prima ministra Sturgeon per tutto il mese di gennaio: i motivi della scelta e cosa si potrà fare. Le ultime notizie dal mondo sul coronavirus tutte le ultime news aggiornate 24 ore su 24.

In Scozia ci sarà un lockdown nazionale a partire dalla mezzanotte di martedì 5 gennaio fino alla fine del mese. La prima ministra scozzese, Nicola Sturgeon, ha detto che le misure saranno estese a tutto il territorio della Scozia e che si potrà uscire di casa soltanto per gli spostamenti strettamente necessari.

Nelle ultime 24 ore in Scozia sono stati rilevati 1.905 contagi da coronavirus. Sturgeon ha spiegato che a oggi in Scozia sono state vaccinate più di 100mila persone ma che quasi la metà di chi attualmente è contagiato è risultata positiva alla nuova mutazione del virus – la cosiddetta variante inglese –, che sembra trasmettersi molto più facilmente.

La prima ministra ha poi aggiunto:

“Probabilmente il modo più semplice per spiegare la sfida che stiamo affrontando è paragonarla a una gara. In una corsia abbiamo i vaccini: il nostro compito è fare in modo che corrano il più velocemente possibile. Nell’altra corsia però c’è il virus che, per via della nuova variante, ha appena imparato a correre molto più veloce, e che nelle ultime due settimane ha decisamente aumentato la sua andatura. Per accertarci che il vaccino vinca la gara, è essenziale accelerare le vaccinazioni il più possibile. Ma per dargli tempo di prendere vantaggio, dobbiamo anche far rallentare il virus”.
