Sono le parole del professor Massimo Galli, responsabile di malattie infettive dell’ospedale Sacco di Milano, che a Mattino 5 si esprime così sulle prime fasi della campagna di vaccinazione contro il coronavirus.
“Tutto quello che è mobilitabile a sostegno della campagna vaccinale deve essere mobilitato. Non c’è luogo al mondo in cui si dica ‘vacciniamo tutti, non c’è problema’. In tutti i sistemi sanitari occidentali non è mai stata attuata una vaccinazione di massa e rappresenta una sfida importantissima che ha bisogno di numeri diversi e una certa serenità”, dice Galli allargando il discorso al di là dei confini italiani.
“Non mi importa se il motore è un diesel e ha una partenza lenta, mi interessa che arrivi presto a regime. Stiamo partendo nelle festività natalizie e stiamo partendo con il personale sanitario che è esausto. E’ comprensibile che ci sia stato un numero limitato di vaccinati e vaccinandi. Il punto è arrivare presto a regime e chiarire chi e come potrà fare il vaccinatore”, afferma.

A chi ipotizza l’ampliamento della rete, con il coinvolgimento di medici di base e farmacie, Galli replica: “Le farmacie possono essere un luogo di vaccinazione, ma l’organizzazione deve passare per un ente di garanzia. Deve essere presente ad esempio anche il personale in grado di gestire un’emergenza sanitaria: non avremo shock anafilattici a iosa, ma qualcuno lo potremmo avere come avviene per l’assunzione di ogni vaccino e ogni farmaco”.
