Bassetti su Ilaria Capua: “E’ una veterinaria, parla di vaccini e fa confusione”

“L’altra sera c’era una veterinaria che parlava di vaccini, così si crea confusione“.

Matteo Bassetti, a L’aria che tira, interviene così nel dibattito sull’efficacia dei vaccini contro il coronavirus e sulla loro capacità di prevenire infezione e malattia.

La professoressa Ilaria Capua, direttrice dell’One Health Center dell’Università della Florida, è intervenuta sul tema vaccini anti Covid a DiMartedì, trasmissione a cui ha partecipato anche Bassetti.

“Purtroppo nella medicina oggi c’è tanta confusione. Nella trasmissione del’altra sera abbiamo sovvertito l’ordine della meritrocrazia“, dice Bassetti a L’aria che tira. Martedì “c’era una suora che parlava di economia planetaria, un giornalista che parlava delle complicanze della polmonite da Covid quasi facendo vedere le proprie lastre e una veterinaria che parlava di vaccini“.

Bassetti continua: “Bisogna rimettere ordine nella competenza: i vaccini, da che mondo è mondo, prevengono la malattia e l’infezione. Ho grandissimo rispetto per la dottoressa Capua, ma io non parlo di animali. Dire che i vaccini non prevengono l’infezione è sbagliato. Dobbiamo dire che i vaccini non hanno un’efficacia del 100%, qualcuno verrà vaccinato e farà comunque l’infezione ma in forma molto meno aggressiva. Il vaccino per l’influenza ha un’efficacia del 50-60%, ma chi si fa la malattia se la fa in forma più lieve. Io non voglio attaccare nessuno, ma io non so cosa succede ai polli perché non faccio il veterinario“, dice il direttore della Clinica di malattie infettive dell’ospedale San Martino di Genova.

Bassetti si esprime anche sulla chiusura delle scuole superiori che potrebbero riaprire nel 2021.

“Quando andavo a scuola, chi non sapeva fare un compito copiava dal secchione. Perché noi in Italia non siamo in grado di copiare dalla Germania che ha gestito in maniera appropriata anche le scuole?. Lì le hanno chiuse in qualche Land dove c’erano i contagi. Noi sulle scuole abbiamo sbagliato molto. Poi è chiaro che non ha senso aprire il 15 dicembre per riaprire il 20 dicembre. I paesi evoluti in Europa non le hanno chiuse, le abbiamo chiuse solo noi“.
