Stefano Paternò, un militare in servizio ad Augusta (Siracusa), è morto a 43 anni di età. Originario di Corleone, ma residente a Misterbianco, è deceduto ieri notte nella sua abitazione dopo che nelle ore precedenti si era sottoposto al vaccino anti-Covid. Non vi è alcuna correlazione accertata tra la vaccinazione e il decesso. Anche se, è notizia dell’ultim’ora quella della sospensione del lotto ABV2856 del vaccino Astrazeneca da parte dell’Aifa.
Sulla vicenda la procura di Siracusa ha aperto un’inchiesta per accertare le cause del decesso. “Non ci sono evidenze – dice il procuratore Sabrina Gambino – che il decesso sia legato alla somministrazione del vaccino, al momento non risulta alcuna correlazione. Avvieremo gli accertamenti sul caso e sarà l’autopsia a stabilire quali sono state le cause della morte”.
Nella mattina dell’8 marzo aveva ricevuto la prima dose del vaccino Astrazeneca, all’interno dell’ospedale militare di Augusta. Nessuna reazione avversa immediata. Il 43enne era rientrato a casa. Poi ha iniziato a sentirsi male. In serata la febbre sale e le sue condizioni peggiorano fino al decesso, avvenuto per arresto cardiocircolatorio. Non ci sono evidenze al momento che correlino il decesso con il vaccino. L’inchiesta dovrà fare piena luce sulla tragica scomparsa. Stefano Paternò lascia due figli, era un sottoufficiale della Marina militare presso l’Arsenale.
La morte ha destato profonda commozione a Misterbianco e presso tutti i suoi colleghi in Marina: viene ricordato sui social come un uomo “dalla vita dedicata al dovere, di gran cuore, che amava il suo lavoro. Un uomo dalla profonda educazione, sempre disponibile con gli altri”.
