Morte Nedo Fiano – E’ morto a Milano Nedo Fiano, papà del deputato Emanuele e uno degli ultimi sopravvissuti di Auschwitz. Aveva 95 anni. Da tempo era ricoverato in una casa di riposo di Milano, insieme alla moglie Rina Lattes.
Il presidente della Comunità Milo Hasbani, il Rabbino Capo Rav Alfonso Arbib, tutto il Consiglio e comunità intera lo ricordano con grandissimo affetto e rimpianto per la sua instancabile opera di testimonianza sulla Shoah.
Questo il messaggio di cordoglio del premier Giuseppe Conte per la morte di Fiano:
“Con la scomparsa di Nedo Fiano perdiamo uno degli ultimi sopravvissuti all’orrore della Shoah, un appassionato, prezioso testimone di una delle pagine più buie della storia dell’umanità. Un commosso pensiero e una partecipe vicinanza al figlio Emanuele e ai suoi cari”.
“Ciò che ha connotato tutta la mia vita – era solito dire di sè Fiano – è stata la mia deportazione nei campi di sterminio nazisti. Con me ad Auschwitz finì tutta la mia famiglia, vennero sterminati tutti. A 18 anni sono rimasto orfano e quest’esperienza così devastante ha fatto di me un uomo diverso, un testimone per tutta la vita”.

“Mi piange il cuore – afferma la presidente della comunità ebraica di Roma, Ruth Dureghello -. Ha avuto la forza di raccontare l’orrore a intere generazioni. Un esempio di vita per tutti noi. Un abbraccio a Emanuele Fiano e alla famiglia dalla comunità ebraica di Roma”.
