“Abbiamo ricevuto 7,9 milioni di dosi, contiamo di vaccinare non solo negli ospedali, nelle aziende, nelle palestre e nei parcheggi: arriveremo a 500mila vaccini al giorno”.

La campagna vaccinale, secondo Draghi, deve accelerare. Come ha fatto nei giorni scorsi: “Solo nei primi undici giorni di marzo è stato somministrato quasi il 30% di tutte le vaccinazioni fatte fino all’inizio di questo mese: è il doppio della media dei due mesi precedenti. Il ritmo giornaliero attuale è di circa 170.000 somministrazioni al giorno. L’obiettivo è triplicarlo presto”.

“L’Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco ha bloccato un lotto di vaccini AstraZeneca, dopo la segnalazione di alcuni gravi eventi avversi. E’ una decisione precauzionale, in linea con quanto fatto in altri Paesi europei, e che dimostra l’efficacia dei sistemi di farmacovigilanza. Il parere dell’Aifa, condiviso dagli scienziati, è che non ci sia alcuna prova che questi eventi siano legati alla somministrazione del vaccino. L’Agenzia Europea per i Medicinali sta esaminando i casi sospetti, ma ha anche consigliato di proseguire col suo utilizzo. Qualunque sia la decisione finale dell’EMA, posso assicurarvi che la campagna vaccinale proseguirà con rinnovata intensità”, ha detto Draghi.

“E’ di oggi – annuncia Draghi – è la conclusione del primo contratto tra un’azienda italiana e un’azienda titolare di un brevetto. Continueremo a sviluppare la capacità produttiva di vaccini in Italia”. “L’Unione Europea ha preso degli impegni chiari con le case farmaceutiche e ci aspettiamo che vengano rispettati. In queste settimane abbiamo preso decisioni forti nei confronti delle aziende in ritardo con le consegne. Seguiteremo a farlo, per difendere la salute degli italiani”.
I vaccini non solo in ospedale
“Il nostro obbiettivo, in accordo con il ministro della Salute, Roberto Speranza, il capo della Protezione Civile, Fabrizio Curcio, e il Commissario straordinario all’emergenza, Generale Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, è quello di utilizzare tutti gli spazi utili disponibili per le vaccinazioni. Ci si potrà vaccinare non solo negli ospedali, ma anche nelle aziende, nelle palestre e nei parcheggi come questo di Fiumicino. In Italia sono già operativi 1.694 siti vaccinali fissi e altri verranno individuati”, dice il presidente del Consiglio.
