Secondo quanto emerso dall’udienza preliminare di questa mattina svoltasi al tribunale di Catania, il pm Andrea Bonomo ha chiesto al Gup Nunzio Sarpietro l’archiviazione per il reato di sequestro di persona aggravato nei confronti di Matteo Salvini.

Si tratta di una vera e propria svolta che potrebbe evitare il processo a carico dell’ex ministro dell’Interno, per il quale la procura di Catania aveva già chiesto l’archiviazione durante la prima fase del procedimento.
La giornata a Catania è iniziata con due striscioni dei sostenitori leghisti davanti al Palazzo di giustizia, entrambi che davano sostegno al leader Matteo Salvini. Come riporta il Corriere della Sera online, dall’altra parte della barricata, era presente invece un gruppo di manifestanti anti Carroccio.
Salvini, accusato di sequestro di persona per il caso della nave Gregoretti, costretta dall’allora ministro dell’Interno a rimanere al largo con a bordo 131 migranti, tra il 27 e il 31 luglio del 2019, per poi attraccare al porto di Augusta, nel siracusano, solo una volta ottenuta l’autorizzazione.
