Ficarra e Picone lasceranno ufficialmente il bancone di “Striscia la Notizia”.
Dopo 15 anni la coppia ha annunciato che questa settimana per loro sarà l’ultima e che dopo abbandoneranno il programma in onda su Canale 5.
“Inizia quella che sarà l’ultima nostra settimana a Striscia la Notizia. Questo sarà però anche l’ultimo anno per noi.” – hanno detto Ficarra e Picone – “Lasciamo quella che è a tutti gli effetti una grande famiglia. Non nascondiamo che per noi è un po’ difficile visto che siamo qui da ben 15 anni. Non vi nascondiamo che dopo 15 anni e 17 edizioni non è facile. Ringraziamo questa famiglia che ci ha coccolato e lusingato con il suo affetto, facendoci sentire parte di loro. Ringraziamo Antonio Ricci che ci ha sempre fatto sentire importanti, e di questo gliene saremo sempre grati. E ringraziamo voi telespettatori che ci avete sopportato”.
Per i tanti telespettatori presi alla sprovvista dalla notizia, la coppia ha lasciato aperta un piccola possibilità di un ritorno in futuro ma, almeno per il momento, vogliono dedicarsi ad altri progetti. “Non escludiamo che prima o poi torneremo, ma al momento passiamo il testimone” – hanno concluso – “Quello più dispiaciuto di tutti è il Gabibbo, ma solo perché è un sentimentalone dalla lacrima facile”.
