Intervenire per contenere e rallentare la diffusione della “variante UK” in Italia rafforzando/innalzando le misure in tutto il Paese. L’Istituto superiore di sanità ha condotto uno studio coinvolgendo 82 laboratori di 16 regioni diverse, nelle giornate del 3-4 febbraio. Dallo studio dell’ISS è emerso come la variante inglese sia diffusa nell’88% delle Regioni partecipanti allo studio con percentuali rispetto ai casi totali che vanno fino al 59% in alcune aree.
Per tale ragione l’Iss “raccomanda” di modulare ulteriormente le misure restrittive laddove la circolazione è più elevate, inibendo in ogni caso ulteriori rilasci delle attuali misure in atto.
E ancora, tra i punti salienti del rapporto, emerge che “nel contesto italiano in cui la vaccinazione delle categorie di popolazione più fragile sta procedendo rapidamente ma non ha ancora raggiunto coperture sufficienti, la diffusione di varianti a maggiore trasmissibilità può avere un impatto rilevante se non vengono adottate misure di mitigazione adeguata”.
