Il paziente di 83 anni, immunodepresso, vaccinato con Pfizer, dopo pochi giorni dalla seconda dose, si era presentato presso il Pronto Soccorso dell’Ospedale Cervello accusando sintomatologia respiratoria e intestinale clinicamente significative.
Una volta effettuata la diagnosi clinica e microbiologica con tampone molecolare di Covid-19 è stato prontamente ricoverato presso l’Unità di Terapia Intensiva Respiratoria e grazie alla sinergia di Pronto Soccorso, Malattie Infettive, Intensiva Respiratoria, Microbiologia e Virologia dell’azienda ospedaliera palermitana – HUB per il Covid-19 – è stato identificato quale paziente altamente sospetto di essere portatore di una variante genica, come appunto e’ stato poi verificato. In atto il paziente è in trattamento di supporto intensivo delle funzioni vitali.
