Parla di scelta “allucinante” Andrea Crisanti. Somministrare AstraZeneca agli over 60 può far saltare tutta la campagna vaccinale. “L’Italia si è allineata alla Germania, non ha esercitato nessuna valutazione indipendente. Così facendo si mette in pericolo tutto il piano di vaccinazione, visto che la fetta più ampia della popolazione da vaccinare ha meno di 60 anni”.
In una intervista a La Stampa il professore di microbiologia dell’università di Padova attacca anche l’Ema. “Una cosa allucinante. L’Agenzia europea dei medicinali non può lavarsene le mani in questo modo, lasciare che ogni singolo Paese decida per sé. Così si crea disorientamento, oltre a dimostrare la mancanza di indipendenza dell’Ema e la debolezza della politica sanitaria dell’Unione. Quanto alla Germania, quella dei tedeschi è una decisione solo politica, dettata dal fatto che lì c’è una folta presenza di no vax e poi hanno in casa la BionTech: non voglio pensar male, ma forse una predilezione per il vaccino Pfizer c’è“.
Riguardo ai dubbi sui rischi di trombosi legati ad AstraZeneca, Crisanti sottoline che “c’è un problema di percezione, è chiaro, ma non mi stanco di ripetere che, anche se fosse provato un nesso causale, parliamo comunque di episodi rarissimi: è un vaccino che ha una reazione avversa grave ogni 2 milioni e mezzo di immunizzati, difficilmente si raggiungono livelli di sicurezza come questo. È ben più pericoloso prendere l’aereo…”.
Infatti, “una persona che fuma, è in sovrappeso o magari prende estrogeni rischia di andare incontro a complicazioni trombotiche molto di più volando, con una probabilità di 100 su un milione, piuttosto che vaccinandosi con AstraZeneca. E non mi pare che abbiamo messo in discussione l’utilizzo dell’aereo per viaggiare”.
