Così su Twitter Roberto Burioni, virologo e docente all’università Vita-Salute San Raffaele di Milano, postando un articolo di Medical Facts in cui vengono riportati i risultati del vaccino realizzato dall’americana Pfizer con la tedesca BionTech. Annunciati giò da settimane, ora sono pubblicati sul “Nejm” insieme a un editoriale.
“Volevate vedere i dati del vaccino Pfizer? Volevate la pubblicazione? Eccovi accontentati”, scrive il virologo sul portale personale e spiega come “alla fine della storia, perché questo ci interessa, l’efficacia dopo 2 dosi è calcolata essere del 94,8%, con un’oscillazione che può andare dall′89,8% al 97,6%. Esattamente come annunciato dal Ceo della Pfizer, che a questo punto non finirà in galera, come da me previsto. Quindi adesso tutti si possono guardare i dati e possono decidere se è il caso o no di vaccinarsi con un vaccino che è efficace al 95%, risultando al momento uno dei più efficaci vaccini antivirali attualmente disponibili. Ribadisco che, con un vaccino di questa efficacia, anche un solo giorno di ritardo nell’iniziare le vaccinazioni sarebbe non grave, ma gravissimo”.
“L’efficacia è quella detta”, continua, “la sicurezza nei 2 mesi di osservazione (i guai con le vaccinazioni accadono in questo lasso di tempo) pari a quella degli altri vaccini, quindi ottima. C’è però una cosa che vi faccio notare e rappresenta i primi 21 giorni dalla vaccinazione: non solo dal dodicesimo giorno (guarda caso, per produrre gli anticorpi il nostro organismo impiega intorno ai 14 giorni) si vede un effetto protettivo, ma in questo lasso di tempo si sono verificati 4 Covid-19 severi, ma tutti nei non vaccinati”, spiega Burioni in un grafico. Questo potrebbe essere dovuto “alla presenza di piccole quantità di anticorpi che comunque sono in grado di rendere la malattia più lieve, esattamente come accade con il vaccino contro la varicella, che se fatto durante l’incubazione non inibisce completamente la malattia, ma la rende molto più lieve”, conclude il virologo.
