“Medici e sanitari sono stanchi per quanto accaduto nella prima ondata. Avevamo troppo presto voluto dimenticarla quella prima ondata”.
“Le previsioni, anche quelle che ho fatto io, si sono rivelate sbagliate. E’ evidente che oggi ci troviamo in una situazione di difficoltà. Quello che è successo a Napoli è un esempio di mala sanità ed è giusto stigmatizzarlo. Vorrei però mettere in evidenza tutto ciò che di buono stiamo facendo negli ospedali italiani”.
Bassetti ammette che le previsioni sono state sbagliate
“In questa situazione non ci siamo solo noi, molti paesi sono alle prese con gli stessi problemi. E’ probabile che noi non ci siamo organizzati al meglio, ma quando si ammalano così tante persone il sistema va comunque in difficoltà. Oggi è inutile dire che la colpa è di ciò che non si è fatto durante l’estate, dipende da quello che non è stato fatto negli ultimi 30 anni“.
“Sembra un timido segnale di rallentamento. Siamo arrivati a 3000 metri e stiamo correndo, è molto faticoso. Siamo su un plateau ma è molto alto, dobbiamo scendere a 1500 metri: siamo molto in alto e questo crea enorme pressione sugli ospedali”.
