Contattati i veterinari dell’Azienda sanitaria di Bologna, è stato verificato che i documenti dei cuccioli erano stati falsificati per consentirne la importazione in Italia. Tutti risultano avere un’età inferiore ai quattro mesi previsti dalle norme comunitarie per l’importazione.
Inoltre, il fantomatico acquirente italiano era lo stesso spedizioniere che dalla Bielorussia aveva affidato i cuccioli ai due uomini, da qui l’ipotesi di un trasporto non autorizzato: dopo aver consultato la Procura di Ferrara, i due bielorussi sono stati denunciati per traffico illecito di animali da compagnia e i cuccioli affidati a cittadini.
