“Incredibile riaprire le scuole a bambini non vaccinati. Allo stato attuale dei fatti noi stiamo riaprendo le scuole a bambini che non stiamo vaccinando e che non vaccineremo se non dopo l’estate, se tutto va bene. Speriamo non abbia conseguenze. Stiamo andando contro corrente proprio mentre gli altri paesi europei, come la Francia e la Gran Bretagna, riconoscono l’errore. Questo è incredibile“.
Lo ha detto ad Agorà su Rai3 Massimo Galli, primario infettivologo all’ospedale Sacco di Milano e professore ordinario di Malattie Infettive. Il virus corre e non si arresta il dibattito sulla didattica in presenza. Nel primo giorno di vacanze pasquali ecco il nuovo allerta. Ma il professore dopo aver messo in guardia offre anche la soluzione.
“Sono del parere – ha aggiunto – visto che non si possono subire errori senza fare nulla, che sia opportuno mettere in piedi programmi sperimentali di ricerca precoce della presenza dell’infezione in determinati contesti, penso ai test salivari”.
Secondo l’infettivologo, “le varianti in circolazione, in particolare quella inglese che è diventata dominante nel nostro paese, si trasmettono con grande efficienza anche tra i bambini e gli adolescenti, questo vuol dire che la scuola rimane un serbatoio della malattia. Abbiamo un atteggiamento di guardia abbassata nei confronti di questo problema ”.
Intanto è iniziata la corsa a sperimentare il vaccino anti Covid sui bambini.
