Incidente Monte Rosa – Due alpiniste italiane sono morte assiderate sul Monte Rosa. Erano rimaste bloccate ieri a causa del maltempo sotto la Piramide Vincent, a 4.150 metri di quota, e avevano chiamato i soccorsi.
Squadre a piedi del Soccorso alpino valdostano sono salite nella notte e le hanno trovate. Si tratta di due donne piemontesi.
Le vittime sono due trentenni. Con loro c’era anche un uomo, che ha riportato gravi congelamenti alle mani ma è sopravvissuto.

Ieri erano partiti per l’ascensione della Piramide Vincent e hanno raggiunto la vetta solo nel pomeriggio, mentre stava iniziando la bufera. Non riuscendo a rientrare a valle hanno dato l’allarme: sono stati individuati da un sorvolo dell’elicottero del Soccorso alpino valdostano ma il recupero è stato impossibile.
Sono così salite delle guide alpine a piedi dal rifugio Mantova. I tre sono stati raggiunti verso le 21: una scalatrice è morta pochi minuti dopo l’arrivo dei soccorritori mentre l’altra è stata trasportata al rifugio Mantova dove il medico ha tentato invano di rianimarla. Il loro compagno di cordata è invece stato trasportato in Svizzera dall’elicottero di Air Zermatt.
Alle operazioni di recupero, svoltesi in condizioni estreme a causa della bufera, hanno partecipato i tecnici del Soccorso Alpino Valdostano, i soccorritori di Alagna e gli uomini del Soccorso alpino della Guardia di finanza di Cervinia a cui sono affidate le indagini.
