La foto in cui abbraccia un ragazzo senegalese appena arrivato dal Marocco su una delle spiagge di Ceuta è già una foto simbolo della crisi dei migranti nell’enclave spagnola. Ma il gesto di Luna Reyes, 20enne volontaria della Croce Rossa, le ha scatenato contro una valanga di odio social, con insulti e frasi maschiliste e razziste.

Una reazione che, raccontano i media iberici, ha portato questa giovane di 20 anni a rinunciare almeno per un po’ ad accedere ai suoi profili. E che l’ha lasciato incredula. “L’ho solo abbracciato”, ha detto alla televisione pubblica spagnola Rtve. In quel momento, ha aggiunto, le è parsa la risposta “più normale del mondo” a una “richiesta di aiuto”.

Reyes ha raccontato che il giovane, di cui ha perso le tracce poco dopo senza neanche riuscire a sapere il suo nome, aveva appena attraversato a nuoto il confine tra il Marocco e la Spagna insieme ad un amico, apparso in gravi condizioni. “Era disperato, pensava che stesse morendo”, ha affermato. Il suo timore adesso è che il ragazzo sia uno delle migliaia di migranti già riconsegnati al Marocco (su 8mila arrivi tra lunedì e martedì, sono già almeno 6mila le persone allontanate o tornate indietro spontaneamente, secondo il governo spagnolo).

Lei, madrilena, si è trovata nel cuore dell’emergenza perché a Ceuta sta svolgendo un tirocinio. Come nel caso di un’altra foto simbolo di questa situazione senza precedenti nell’enclave spagnola, un agente della Guardia Civil ritratto in mare mentre salvava un neonato, l’abbraccio tra Luna e il migrante senegalese in poche ore ha fatto il giro del web. Molti l’hanno accompagnata con l’hashtag #GraciasLuna, una campagna di solidarietà che ha raccolto le adesioni anche di esponenti del governo: “E’ molto più di una foto. È un simbolo di speranza e solidarietà”, ha commentato la vicepremier Yolanda Díaz.

Intanto, secondo le informazioni dal posto, sembra essere tornata una relativa calma sul confine,  dove tuttavia è stato recuperato il secondo cadavere dall’inizio della crisi, dopo che il Marocco ha ristabilito i controlli alla frontiera. Adesso la “preoccupazione principale” di Madrid è l’accoglienza dei minori rimasti a Ceuta, almeno 850 secondo le ultime cifre.
