Credeva che il Covid fosse una bufala, definendolo sui social un semplice raffreddore o un’influenza più leggera che non giustificava le chiusure nel suo Paese. Così ha anche organizzato almeno due raduni illegali nella sua proprietà nella cittadina di Gran, a cui hanno partecipato decine persone, che ora risultano contagiate.
Lui, Hans Kristian Gaarder, sessantenne norvegese, è morto lo scorso 5 aprile proprio a causa quell’infezione di cui negava l’esistenza.
Le analisi effettuate dopo il decesso hanno infatti rivelato che l’uomo era positivo al Coronavirus e che era questa la causa della morte.

Gaarder credeva nelle teorie del complotto sulle origini del Coronavirus. Spesso compariva in tv o scriveva sui social media, ribadendo che per lui il Covid fosse come un raffreddore.
Molti suoi post su Facebook sono stati bollati come “fake news” dalla stessa piattaforma di Mark Zuckerberg. I funzionari locali ritengono che possa essere stato malato per diverse settimane senza informare nessuno.
Una decina di giorni prima di morire, aveva organizzato delle riunioni illegali nella sua proprietà, il 26 e 27 marzo scorso. Dodici persone, come riporta il quotidiano locale Hadeland, che hanno partecipato alle sue feste private, nonostante il divieto in vigore dal 16 marzo, sono in seguito risultate positive al Sars-Cov-2 e hanno contagiato i propri familiari. Per questo il comune di Gran, a pochi passi da Oslo, ha lanciato un appello per poter rintracciare e sottoporre a tampone i partecipanti alle feste.
Il medico del paese, Are Løken ha commentato che la morte di Gaarder è comunque motivo di cordoglio e ha aggiunto che “i nostri pensieri ora sono rivolti ai suoi parenti”.
