Reginaldo prosegue, spiegando il motivo per il quale a suo giudizio la storia con la Canalis avrebbe penalizzato la sua carriera.
“Comunque mi fa piacere quando se ne parla della storia con Elisabetta anche se, visto il forte clamore mediatico, molto spesso si ricordano di me più per essere stato lo stallone della Canalis che un calciatore con quasi 500 presenze in Italia“, dice il brasiliano.
Reginaldo continua: “Quella storia con una donna famosa, mi tolse qualcosa calcisticamente perchè molti direttori sportivi mi consideravano un calciatore che pensava solo alle donne e alla bella vita”.
“Insomma senza rinnegare nulla ma credo proprio che la love story con la Canalis penalizzò la mia carriera anche se poi io ho dimostrato a suon di gol che non ero solo un giocatore da notti in discoteca“.
“Con Elisabetta ormai non ci sentiamo più, lei vive negli Stati Uniti e io in Italia ma non cancello quella avventura e sono stati sette mesi belli”, conclude Reginaldo.
