Dato il terremoto scatenato dal post, il direttore dello Spallanzani ha deciso poi di chiarire ciò che voleva dire. Vaia, che nelle ultime settimane ha rilasciato diverse dichiarazioni in cui invitava a non terrorizzare con le varianti del virus, ha specificato che è necessario lavorare affinché siano rispettati gli accordi e siano consegnate le dosi di vaccino decise in fase di contrattazione. “La riduzione della contagiosità nella popolazione di ottant’anni e nel perso sanitario ci dice una cosa inequivocabile: il vaccino è una strategia fondamentale per uscire dalla pandemia, insieme alle terapie innovative come gli anticorpi monoclonali. Cosa dobbiamo fare: una sola cosa. Senza distrazioni, dritti all’obiettivo. Bisogna approvvigionarsi di più dosi di vaccino”.
