Questo tipo di vaccino «potrebbe essere molto importante in futuro» perché, ha spiegato Paolo Bonfanti direttore della Clinica di Malattie infettive del San Gerardo, c’è «la possibilità di modificarlo adattandolo alla emergenza di varianti del virus non sensibili ai vaccini attuali», senza contare che è stabile a temperatura ambiente (quindi senza bisogno di garantire la catena del freddo e avere dei super freezer) e può «essere somministrato molte volte, nel caso in cui le vaccinazioni anti-Covid debbano essere ripetute ogni anno».
