Dovremo vaccinarci ogni anno contro Covid-19, come per l’influenza? “Verosimilmente sì, se le varianti daranno preoccupazione. Lo ha detto Nicola Magrini, direttore generale dell’Agenzia italiana del farmaco (Aifa), a ’24 Mattino’ su Radio 24.

A proposito della possibilità di ricevere la seconda dose con un altro vaccino, Magrini spiega che “di solito attendiamo la pubblicazione degli studi, ci pronunceremo nei prossimi giorni. La scelta di mantenere la seconda dose di AstraZeneca si basava sui dati e sul voler mantenere la fiducia anche su questo vaccino. Fare la seconda dose con un altro vaccino dà comunque una risposta anticorpale eccellente, come emerge da studi che quando abbiamo preso le precedenti decisioni non erano disponibili. Comunque cambiare la strategia dà sempre incertezza e titubanza”.

I 12-15enni “in questo momento non sono la categoria prioritaria, ma anche in questa fascia d’età ci sono pazienti con fragilità. E’ un’ottima notizia vedere la risposta anticorpale. Anche i non fragili si dovrebbero vaccinare, con un vaccino che è sicuro anche per loro. Gli adolescenti sono robusti e sicuri anche di fronte a questo virus, ma il vaccino manda i contagi a zero e questo è importante. Lo devono fare anche per loro, non solo per non trasmetterlo ai grandi”, sottolinea Magrini. “I dati per i vaccini a mRna sono molto positivi e confortanti anche dal punto di vista della riduzione della circolazione virale – afferma – ma aggiungerei anche questo elemento di protezione individuale: vedere che anche in loro si passa a zero casi con il vaccino è un dato positivo, un ulteriore elemento di rassicurazione”.
