Neonato moto di Covid – È morto dopo appena 37 giorni di vita un neonato greco colpito dal Covid-19, che era stato ricoverato all’ospedale pediatrico ateniese di Aglaia Kyriakou. Si tratta della vittima più giovane del coronavirus in Grecia, scrive la stampa ellenica. Del caso aveva riferito qualche giorno fa anche Vassilis Kikilias, ministro della Salute, spiegando durante un briefing sulla situazione dell’epidemia in Grecia:
“Sto seguendo quotidianamente, dal 19 febbraio, lo stato di salute di un bambino di soli 24 giorni, ricoverato nell’unità di terapia intensiva. È un’anima piccola, innocente, che combatte per la vita, i medici fanno quello che possono e desideriamo che tutto vada bene”.

Stando a quanto riferiscono i media greci il bambino non era affetto da nessun’altra patologia e avrebbe contratto il Covid-19 pochissimi giorni dopo la nascita sviluppando ben presto sintomi gravi come difficoltà respiratorie acute e polmonite.
A quanto riferisce l’emittente greca ERT a trasmettere il coronavirus al neonato potrebbero essere stati i genitori o i suoi fratelli maggiori, tutti risultati positivi al test e tutti fortunatamente in buone condizioni di salute.
A ormai un anno dall’esplosione della pandemia in Italia sono diversi gli aspetti consolidati riguardo l’infezione da Sars-Cov-2 nell’età pediatrica. Ad oggi, la ricerca ha infatti fornito numerosi elementi, per lo più rassicuranti, riguardo il rischio che i più piccoli possano contrarre la malattia e andare incontro a forme gravi di Covid-19. È infatti raro che i bimbi che contraggono l’infezione da coronavirus Sars-Cov-2 COVID-19 sviluppino una condizione chiamata sindrome infiammatoria multisistemica, che comunque può presentarsi da 2 a 4 settimane dopo l’infezione.
Come per gli adulti il principale modo per prevenire il Covid è evitare di essere contagiati. Tutti i membri della famiglia, raccomandano gli studiosi, dovrebbero per prima cosa, rispettare le tre regole essenziali : (1) mantenere la distanza interpersonale; (2) indossare la mascherina; (3) lavarsi frequentemente le mani con acqua e sapone per più di 20 secondi, evitando di toccare gli occhi, il naso e la bocca con le mani non lavate.
