Succede anche questo ai tempi del Covid-19 e a denunciarlo sono i familiari di Tesolina Bernardini, 87 anni, la prima vittima del coronavirus nella residenza sanitaria assistenziale di Montebuono, antico centro di 900 abitanti in provincia di Rieti, sui Monti Sabini.

L’anziana, da tempo ospite della locale Rsa, è stata contagiata dal Covid. “Mia mamma – racconta la nipote della vittima – ha scoperto che in quella struttura c’era un focolaio il 29 novembre scorso, leggendo un post su Facebook, nonostante mio padre contattasse tutti i giorni la Rsa”.

“A quel punto mio padre ha iniziato a telefonare, essendo a tutti noi da tempo vietato l’accesso proprio per evitare contagi, ed ha ricevuto rassicurazioni. Gli è stato detto che mia zia era asintomatica, che non aveva febbre e che, nonostante tutte le sue patologie, stava bene, aggiungendo che non serviva alcun ricovero in ospedale. Ci siamo fidati”.

Il 2 novembre, dopo tre giorni, dalla residenza sanitaria vengono invece contattati i familiari della 87enne, ai quali viene comunicato che l’anziana al mattino era deceduta. “Ci hanno informato dopo ore, sostenendo che i nostri telefoni squillavano a vuoto, e abbiamo alla fine scoperto che il medico della struttura era assente da dieci giorni perché positivo al Covid. Abbiamo subito presentato una denuncia”.

Il 4 novembre, il giorno del funerale, quando solo otto parenti della 87enne si sono recati nella Rsa per accompagnare il feretro in chiesa, hanno trovato la bara parcheggiata davanti a un’uscita secondaria, in mezzo a sacchi pieni di rifiuti Covid.

“Quando mia madre mi ha inviato le foto non riuscivo a crederci. Hanno detto che per protocollo si fa così, non potendo utilizzare la camera ardente”.

“I miei genitori sono stati venti minuti davanti a quel quadro e per fortuna avevano la mascherina, altrimenti sarebbero morti non di Covid ma per i cattivi odori che emanavano quei sacchi di rifiuti. Non si può fare così. Almeno un minimo di rispetto”.
