Il dirigente Prevenzione, Gianni Rezza, ha disposto una nuova ricerca che vada a valutare la diffusione dell’inglese, della brasiliana e della sudafricana.

La prima, nei giorni scorsi, ha rilevato una presenza del 17,8 per cento della versione britannica. Da questa seconda ricerca, ramificata in tutte le regioni, è attesa una percentuale almeno doppia, anche perché tra un mese la variante inglese sarà prevalente.
La sudafricana (che mette in difficoltà il vaccino) per ora è circoscritta in provincia di Bolzano, la brasiliana in Umbria. Questo scenario ha convinto il Ministero della Salute e le Regioni a organizzare un sistema di difesa più rigoroso.
Il presidente del Consiglio, Mario Draghi, che punta moltissimo su una campagna di vaccinazione di massa per mettere in sicurezza il Paese, al contempo concorda sulla necessità di essere prudenti in questa fase di passaggio.
Cosa succederà? Si lavora su due binari, anche se non c’è un provvedimento imminente: alcuni governatori, a partire da Bonaccini (Emilia-Romagna), propongono di far passare tutta l’Italia in fascia arancione (con misure ancora più incisive da fascia rossa nei fine settimana). La formula è stata sperimentata nel periodo natalizio.
Oggettivamente, ha mantenuto bassa la curva dei contagi che poteva schizzare alle stelle nei giorni festivi più importanti dell’anno. Non è il lockdown generale proposto dal professor Walter Ricciardi, ma una formula più leggera che, comunque, avrebbe una durata al massimo di tre settimane.
Secondo binario: rivisitazione del sistema di vigilanza, del monitoraggio del virus che passa dall’Rt e da altri 21 indicatori. Istituto superiore di Sanità e Ministero della Salute sono al lavoro per comprendere se siano necessari dei correttivi di fronte alla variante inglese che ha una maggiore velocità di trasmissione.
Una ipotesi è quella di abbassare ulteriormente gli indici che fanno scattare il colore arancione (oggi l’Rt a 1 più altri fattori) e il rosso (Rt a 1,25). Si potrebbe abbassare dello 0,1-0,2 i due valori limiti. Il professor Rezza, nella conferenza stampa, ieri ha insistito su un’urgenza: dobbiamo dare la caccia alle varianti, isolarle ed evitare che si espandano in tutto il Paese.
Non vale tanto per la inglese, che diventerà quella dominante (per fortuna non aggira il vaccino e non è più letale, anche se correndo più velocemente può causare molte vittime), ma per quelle brasiliana e sudafricana che possono essere ancora circoscritte.
