“La notizia della sospensione del vaccino di Johnson and Johnson da parte di FDA ha rubato la scena su tutte le testate giornalistiche italiane che hanno dato straordinaria enfasi a questa decisione. Il vaccino è stato sospeso in via precauzionale per 7 casi di disturbo coagulativo del sangue su oltre 7000000 di vaccinati. Un caso possibile ogni milione di vaccinati ovvero lo 0,000001%. Sembra davvero una guerra commerciale combattuta sulla salute dei cittadini del mondo”.
Questo scrive sul suo profilo Instagram il professor Matteo Bassetti, primario del reparto di malattie infettive dell’Ospedale San Martino di Genova.
Il suo post coninua: “Credo si sia perso di vista l’obiettivo della vaccinazione di massa e quanto il mondo stia ancora pagando un tributo altissimo in termini di ricoveri e di morti per colpa del Covid. Davvero preferiamo migliaia di morti per la malattia a probabili remotissimi effetti collaterali da vaccino? Spero la vecchia Europa sappia misurare attentamente il rischio di una decisione che potrebbe essere avventata e distruttiva per la nostra campagna vaccinale. Ci vuole coraggio e rigore scientifico senza perdere di vista l’obiettivo. Stiamo davvero rischiando grosso“.
Ed infine conclude con un pensiero sul nostro Paese: “Veniamo all’Italia spero che non manchino le dosi di vaccino e qualora mancassero, sarebbe davvero difficile spiegarlo alla gente. Il governo italiano, se avesse voluto, avrebbe potuto acquistare vaccini in maniera indipendente rispetto all’Europa. Le dosi di vaccino ci sono e ce ne sono tante di tutte le marche da AstraZeneca a Pfizer fino a Moderna. Si possono tranquillamente acquistare al mercato extra europeo. Lo abbiamo detto e suggerito al presidente Draghi con una lettera fatta da un gruppo di esperti. Speriamo che qualcuno ci ascolti #credonellascienza”.
