Intervista Gerry Scotti lacrime – Lunedì Gerry Scotti è uscito dall’ospedale dove è stato ricoverato 10 giorni per Covid. Ripercorre i suoi giorni in ospedale e più volte il racconto è spezzato dalle lacrime che deve ricacciare in gola. Ecco uno stralcio della sua intervista al Corriere della Sera:

 «Quando mi hanno detto che mi ricoveravano sono diventato verde, ho sudato freddo. Io li vedevo tutti, vedevo 24 persone immobili, intubate, come nei film di fantascienza».

Come è iniziata?

«Febbriciattola, stanchezza, colpi di tosse. Una settimana e passa tutto, pensavo. Invece no».

Quando le hanno detto «positivo» cosa ha provato?

«Avevo 36 e 2 e pensavo di star bene. Invece positivo. Quando ho sentito quella parola mi è sembrato improvvisamente di essere al di là del Muro di Berlino, non so come altro spiegarlo. In un attimo ho rivissuto i sei mesi di paura, terrore, precauzione, speranza che stiamo vivendo tutti. Perché proprio a me? Sentivo di non sapere nemmeno da dove cominciare a capire da dove fosse partito tutto».

La seconda botta è stata il ricovero.

«Al secondo controllo al Covid Center dell’Humanitas a Rozzano mi è stato consigliato di rimanere da loro perché avevo tutti i parametri sballati: fegato, reni, pancreas. Ero già nell’unità intensiva, perché quando entri nel pronto soccorso del Covid Center non c’è l’area rinfresco, l’area macchinette, l’area vogliamoci bene: si apre una porta e da lì in poi vedi tutto quello che hai visto nei peggiori telegiornali della tua vita. Sono diventato verde, ho sudato freddo».

Fino all’anticamera della terapia intensiva…

«Ero in una stanzina, di là c’era la sliding door della vita di tantissime persone. Con due altri pazienti ci strizzavamo l’occhio, dai che ce la fai. Ho appurato — stando lì, due notti e un giorno — che quella era l’ultima porta. Se decidevano di aprire quel varco… Io li vedevo tutti, vedevo 24 persone immobili, intubate, come nei film di fantascienza. Pregavo per loro invece che pregare per me».

L’hanno curata anche con il casco con l’ossigeno?

«Sono arrivato all’ultimo step indolore della terapia prima che ti intubino. Per un paio di giorni a orari alterni ho dovuto indossarlo anche io, è stato un toccasana. Ricordo lo slogan: il casco ti salva la vita. Adesso ho capito bene di che casco si tratta… Poi una mattina hanno girato indietro il letto e mi hanno riportato nella mia stanza».

Cosa dice a chi minimizza la malattia, ai negazionisti?

«Bisogna prenderli e lasciarli in quella stanzina un’ora. Non c’è bisogno di 36 ore come è stato per me. Sicuro che cambiano idea».
