Ad annunciare la sua positività è stato lo stesso Gerry Scotti, che tramite un post su Instagram ha spiegato cosa stia succedendo:

“Volevo essere io a dirvelo: ho contratto il COVID-19. Sono a casa, sotto controllo medico. Grazie a tutti per l’affetto e l’interessamento”.

Ha voluto evitare quindi che i giornali dessero in anticipo la notizia, affermando lui stesso quale fosse la sua situazione di salute.

Molti dei suoi fan si sono mostrati preoccupati per le sue condizioni di salute, che per fortuna però non destano preoccupazione stando alle parole scritte da Gerry su Instagram.

Gerry Scotti ha poi rilasciato queste dicharazioni al Corriere della Sera in merito al suo stato di salute:

“La prima cosa che desidero dire è che voglio essere davvero vicino a coloro che in questo momento sono malati di Covid. Forza e coraggio, non mollate. Per farvi vedere quanto sono vicino a voi, me lo sono preso pure io, anche se è una cosa che tutti noi pensiamo che non ci capiterà mai”.

“Mi sento le ossa rotte e ho un po’ di febbriciattola, per i sintomi che ho sono stato fortunato. Io non mollo e e ribadisco a tutti: prudenza a chi non ha il Covid e coraggio a chi l’ha preso.”
