Massimo Galli, direttore di malattie infettive dell’ospedale Sacco di Milano, ha commentato gli ultimi numeri della pandemia Covid in Italia. “È sicuramente presto per cantare vittoria – dice -, però siamo in una situazione abbastanza statica, non così migliorata per contare vittoria, ma negli ultimi giorni senza palesi segni di peggioramento. Bisognerà tenere i nervi saldi e gestire”.
Galli ottimista? Pochi giorni prima non era della stessa idea
Solo qualche giorno prima, l’infettivologo e docente della Statale di Milano, in un’intervista a Fanpage.it, aveva chiesto al Governo misure più restrittive per evitare situazione simili a quelle di Gran Bretagna, Germania e Francia. In molti altri Paesi europei, infatti, il virus sta dilagando senza controllo. “La situazione è allarmante, è grave dover tenere ancora gli ospedali in assetto Covid”, aveva detto Galli invitando a “chiudere molto, diagnosticare molto, vaccinare molto”.
Ma il professore si era fatto sentire anche ai microfoni di RaiNews24 in merito alla distribuzione dei vaccini rallentata dai ritardi dell’azienda produttrice Pfizer. “Una vera campagna di vaccinale deve essere breve ed estesa – aveva dichiarato -. Qui ci sarà una campagna che si dilungherà in proporzione della disponibilità del vaccino. Non è una situazione ottimale, andrei avanti con l’ottimismo della volontà”.
Il vaccino, per Galli, rimane l’unica strada, in quanto “l’immunità di gregge non funziona”.
