Focolaio Covid Rebibbia – Il Covid-19 è tornato a contagiare nel carcere femminile di Rebibbia. Da quanto appreso dal S.PP., sindacato di Polizia penitenziaria, sembra siano risultate positive al tampone molecolare oltre 40 detenute e 3 unità di Polizia Penitenziaria. E il numero pare sia in crescita.
A darne notizia è Aldo Di Giacomo, segretario generale del sindacato di Polizia Penitenziaria S.PP.: “L’entità del focolaio desta preoccupazione e non poche criticità. Ci siamo confrontati sin dall’inizio con i vertici del carcere ed abbiamo scritto all’autorità sanitaria competente chiedendo prontamente di effettuare un diffuso screening”.
“Ci è stato comunicato in tempi rapidi di aver attivato con diligenza la sorveglianza sanitaria. Difatti sono stati effettuati tamponi al personale ed a tutta la popolazione ristretta, ma il dato dei contagi resta allarmante e sembra crescere di giorno in giorno. Vista la grossa entità, potrebbero paradossalmente iniziare a mancare i posti in isolamento sanitario”.

Di Giacomo aggiunge che “dal principio della pandemia abbiamo chiesto alle autorità nazionali competenti che venissero fatti screening periodici a tutto il personale penitenziario, cosa non avvenuta, eppure probabilmente si sarebbero potuti evitare nelle carceri diversi focolai, con più accuratezza e maggiore organizzazione, senza sottovalutare gli effetti del virus e salvaguardando in tal modo sia il personale che i detenuti, nonché il mondo esterno tenendo in considerazione che chi lavora nelle carceri o vi fa visita a qualsivoglia titolo, ha poi contatti al di fuori di esse”.
Il vice-segretario generale e responsabile sindacale nazionale S.PP. del comparto Polizia Penitenziaria femminile, Gina Rescigno, sottolinea che “lo sforzo messo in atto dalla nuova gestione del carcere è massimo, lo si denota a cominciare dalla giusta e dovuta distribuzione dei necessari Dpi che avviene da diverso tempo, tuttavia anche nel Lazio ancora tarda il via alla somministrazione dei vaccini ed è inconcepibile che ciò avvenga proprio per chi sin dagli albori della pandemia ha lavorato e lavori a tutt’oggi in prima linea, continuando a prestare il proprio servizio sebbene rischi consapevolmente la vita e nel rischio potrebbe coinvolgere anche la sua stessa famiglia. Sono ormai imprescindibili interventi seri da parte delle autorità competenti perché di risposte apparentemente certe, o che per tali si vestono, non sappiamo più che farcene, non bastano più ai poliziotti penitenziari dispiegati su tutto il territorio nazionale”.
Rescigno aggiunge “esprimiamo la nostra solidarietà e diamo il nostro massimo sostegno a chi presta servizio a Rebibbia o in una realtà analoga a quella che si vive in queste ore all’interno delle mura del carcere romano di Rebibbia”.
