Secondo l’ICMR, il Consiglio della ricerca medica indiano, ogni 24 ore sono eseguiti nel paese più di un milione di test: stando agli esperti, questo tasso di crescita è “decisamente allarmante”.
Ancora un fine settimana di spiagge piene, a Rio de Janeiro e sul litorale di San Paolo, nonostante le restrizioni stabilite dalle autorità per contenere la pandemia da coronavirus. Pandemia che ha già causato oltre 4 milioni di contagi e più di 126 mila decessi sull’intero territorio brasiliano. Il tutto alla vigilia della Festa dell’indipendenza del Brasile, che si celebra oggi.
Già nelle prime ore del mattino di questo festivo, migliaia di persone, tra cui molte senza mascherina, hanno riempito i ristoranti di Leblon e di altri quartieri della Zona Sud di Rio, la capitale turistica del Paese.
Nel soleggiato pomeriggio della domenica, invece, ad essere prese di assalto sono stati i bagnasciuga di Copacabana e Ipanema, tra le mete preferite anche degli stranieri. Nonostante sia ancora in vigore un regolamento municipale che vieta di sostare sulla sabbia, consentendo solo il bagno in mare.
Intanto la curva epidemiologica sembra iniziare a scendere nel gigante sudamericano, che conta 212 milioni di abitanti, con una media di 827 morti al giorno nell’ultima settimana, rappresentando un calo del 15% rispetto ai 14 giorni precedenti.
