Un altro clochard morto di stenti… anche se stavolta la storia è ben diversa da quelle che vi abbiamo raccontato in precedenza. Questa è a dir poco singolare.
Un senzatetto di 75 anni, Umberto Quintino Diaco, è stato trovato senza vita giovedì scorso dagli agenti della Polfer in una capanno improvvisato con teli e cartoni nell’ex rampa di carico per le automobili alla stazione di Porta Garibaldi, a Milano. “Morto di stenti”, si legge nel documento compilato dal medico legale, ma dalle successive indagini è emersa una storia quasi incredibile, riportata quest’oggi dal Corriere della Sera.
L’uomo, infatti, sui suoi conti bancari aveva più di centomila euro, 19mila euro di titoli azionari e una pensione, da Monaco in Germania, di 750 euro al mese. Possedeva anche una casa in Calabria e due furgoni intestati, con l’assicurazione pagata, mentre con sé aveva 1.235 euro in contanti.

Fuggito di casa a 17 anni. Diaco ha voluto recidere ogni contatto con la sua famiglia, sparendo per sempre, come racconta al quotidiano la sorella Chiarina. “Lo abbiamo cercato, non ha mai voluto farsi ritrovare”. Gli agenti hanno trovato traccia del denaro e dei titoli nella casella postale al Sam, il Servizio di accoglienza milanese della Caritas. La casella era stata la sola cosa che Quintino aveva chiesto, nonostante le pressanti richieste degli operatori di poterlo aiutare.
