Roberta Sobrero cerca una casa ma nessuno, a Torino, sembra disposto ad affittargliela.
Il problema – è convinta Roberta – è la grave disabilità del marito, Mauro, 55 anni, affetto da Sla e da una forma di demenza che gli hanno tolto la parola e la possibilità di camminare.
“Nessuno lo dice apertamente, ma è evidente che il problema è che nessuno vuole affittare la casa a un disabile”, dice la donna che lavora a Torino come tecnico ortopedico ma ora è in aspettativa per prendersi cura del consorte.
“Non c’è nient’altro che impedisca a un proprietario di firmare un contratto d’affitto con me. Ho un posto di lavoro fisso e ben pagato, tutte le garanzie che vogliono”.
Eppure nelle ultime due settimane Roberta ha visto almeno dieci case e nessuno dei proprietari si è detto disponibile ad affittare l’alloggio.

“C’è sempre qualcosa che non va – racconta – dicono di avere altre proposte migliori, oppure chiedono credenziali che normalmente non servirebbero. Sono andata a vedere una casa in via Filadelfia e come garanzia hanno chiesto il mio cud, quello di mio marito e anche quello di mio padre – racconta – mi hanno detto che mio marito sarebbe morto molto velocemente e che avevano bisogno di altre garanzie”.
Mauro si è ammalato nove anni fa, i medici gli hanno diagnosticato una demenza grave a cui, un anno fa, si è aggiunta la Sla. Prima di ammalarsi faceva il gommista e il soccorritore alpino; adorava la bici e andava in moto. La sua vita e quella di sua moglie sono state stravolte dalla malattia.
“A me questo fa rabbia – dice Roberta – Quello che ci sta succedendo è una discriminazione bella e buona. Ma io non chiedo niente a nessuno, ho addirittura il mio montascale da installare per non dover chiedere lavori extra al padrone di casa. Posso pagare un buon affitto, non c’è nulla che non vada nelle mie proposte”.
Oggi Mauro e sua moglie vivono in un alloggio di via Sacra di San Michele ma il padrone di casa ha fatto sapere, il 3 novembre scorso, che non intende rinnovare il contratto d’affitto in scadenza.
L’alloggio appartiene al marito di Viviana Ferrero, consigliera comunale dei Cinque Stelle, membro della commissione per i Diritti e le pari opportunità.
La Ferrero recentemente è stata tra i primi firmatari di un’interpellanza contro l’emergenza sfratti a sostegno degli inquilini. Nulla, nemmeno la politica, vieta ovviamente alla sua famiglia di disporre di un bene privato per il quale il contratto d’affitto in essere è arrivato a scadenza. La consigliera ha anche garantito un anno di preavviso a Roberta e suo marito per cercare una nuova sistemazione.
“Mi spiace perché un anno fa avevamo fatto di tasca nostra un grosso investimento per rendere più adatto il bagno per Mauro – dice Roberta – E comunque non si può dire che noi siamo mai stati dei cattivi inquilini, sempre puntuali con affitti e scadenza”.
Un anno è un tempo lungo ma appena sufficiente per la coppia a cercare una nuova sistemazione. “Sembra facile, ma non è uno scherzo trasferire mio marito. Dobbiamo cercare qualcosa in zona perché lui ha il medico qui e tutta una serie di servizi a cui è legata la sua cura. Ci servono due stanze perché lui ha un letto ortopedico che ha bisogno di spazio”.
La ricerca di una nuova sistemazione sarebbe già abbastanza difficile senza altri intoppi. “E invece continuiamo a incontrare solo dei no, o richieste assurde. In un’agenzia me l’hanno detto chiaramente che mio marito malato SLA era un problema per la proprietaria: ma le persone come lui andrebbero tutelate, non discriminate”.
