Galli annuncia un’altra epidemia
Per Galli, è “opportuno, quindi, che questa epidemia ci insegni ad andare nella direzione esattamente opposta. Oggi la sanità pubblica, purtroppo, vige in stato semicomatoso. Diventa indispensabile, soprattutto per gli anni a venire, la presenza di una funzione specialistica in ogni centro ospedaliero, non soltanto da un punto di vista strettamente clinico, ma anche dal punto di vista epidemiologico, affinchè ci possa essere un possibile riscontro precoce di condizioni che diventano poi di interesse della prevenzione territoriale nel senso più vasto”.
In generale, ha concluso Galli, “mi auguro francamente che si possa fare tesoro da questa lezione in modo che ci possa trovare più pronti ad affrontare l’altra grande epidemia in arrivo: una pandemia neanche tanto strisciante”.
“Parliamo di quella causata dai germi multiresistenti, che colpisce tanto gli ospedali quanto gli ambienti esterni, una delle principali minacce di questo decennio. E mi auguro, infine, che riusciremo ad essere più forti per fronteggiare malattie ‘storiche’, come quelle da HIV e HCV”.
