Il ministro dell’Interno, Luciana Lamorgese, ha partecipato questa mattina, in collegamento dal Viminale, alla Conferenza sulla gestione dei flussi migratori di Lisbona organizzata dalla Presidenza di turno portoghese del Consiglio dell’Unione europea, con la partecipazione dei rappresentanti dei Paesi africani.
La titolare del Viminale, nel partire dall’analisi dei dati e dalle previsioni sui futuri flussi migratori verso i Paesi mediterranei particolarmente esposti, come l’Italia, ha innanzitutto sottolineato come sia necessario “realizzare interventi strutturali nel sistema di gestione del fenomeno all’interno dell’Unione europea, con l’attivazione di concreti e solidi meccanismi di solidarietà, anche d’emergenza, sul modello di quelli previsti a Malta nel 2019, nonché attuare una strategia condivisa per la lotta ai trafficanti di esseri umani e il contrasto alla tratta e alla immigrazione illegale”.
Luciana Lamorgese: “Occorre lavorare con Paesi d’origine”
Il ministro Lamorgese ha anche evidenziato “l’esigenza di sviluppare un dialogo costruttivo con i partner africani, con un approccio equilibrato, fondato su modelli di cooperazione capaci di valorizzare le specificità di ogni singolo Paese, senza i quali sarà difficile gestire efficacemente i flussi migratori, non solo nel breve periodo, ma anche nei prossimi anni”. “In tale direzione – ha aggiunto la titolare del Viminale – un ruolo incisivo deve essere svolto dall’Unione europea ed è questo il senso della missione congiunta che svolgerò a Tunisi il prossimo 20 maggio, assieme al Commissario europeo Johansson”.
“Nella medesima prospettiva – ha concluso il ministro Lamorgese – occorre lavorare insieme con i Paesi di origine e di transito dei flussi migratori per supportarne la crescita economica e, al contempo, promuovere percorsi di ingresso legale in Europa a favore di quei partner che collaborino nella prevenzione e nel contrasto alla immigrazione illegale”.
