Sabotaggio vaccini – La particolare vicenda che ha portato all’arresto di un farmacista statunitense che ha provato a sabotare i vaccini anti Covid. Le ultime notizie dal mondo sul coronavirus tutte le ultime news aggiornate.
Ha provato a sabotare oltre 500 dosi di vaccino anti-Covid Moderna rimuovendole dalla cella frigorifera in cui erano conservate. Con questa accusa, un farmacista statunitense è stato prima licenziato dall’ospedale in cui lavorava e poi arrestato dalla polizia del Wisconsin.
Circa 60 dosi sono state somministrate prima che il personale del centro medico Aurora Health si rendesse conto che il farmaco era stato rovinato e si teme ora che non abbiano effetto, ma secondo quanto assicurato da Moderna non dovrebbero esserci conseguenze negative per la salute delle persone che hanno ricevuto l’inizione, che sono state prontamente avvisate e dovranno essere vaccinate nuovamente. Le altre dosi alterate sono state immediatamente scartate.
In un primo momento, riferisce la Bbc, il farmacista aveva detto che si era trattato di un errore commesso inavvertitamente, ma durante interrogatori successivi ha riconosciuto di aver intenzionalmente rimosso i vaccini dalle celle frigorifere. L’episodio comporterà il ritardo nella vaccinazione di 570 persone che avrebbero già dovuto ricevere la prima delle due iniezioni previste.
La polizia di Grafton, nei sobborghi di Milwaukee, ha riferito in una nota che il farmacista “sapeva che i vaccini sabotati sarebbero stati inutili e che le persone che li avevano ricevuti avrebbero pensato di essere stati immunizzati quando in realtà non lo erano”. Una situazione che avrebbe potuto avere conseguenze negative in un contesto già di per sé di scetticismo diffuso riguardo alla sicurezza e all’efficacia dei vaccini contro il Covid-19. Diversi operatori sanitari selezionati per la prima fase di somministrazione, hanno infatti espresso perplessità nel ricevere il vaccino.
