Gates è considerato uno degli uomini più ricchi del mondo e ha un patrimonio stimato in oltre 100 miliardi di dollari.
Ora, di mestiere fa il filantropo, accanto alla moglie Belinda ha dato vita alla Bill and Belinda Gates Foundation.
Nel podcast di cui vi stiamo riferendo è apparso al fianco del Ceo di Pfizer, Albert Bourla, che la scorsa settimana ha annunciato che il vaccino elaborato assieme alla tedesca BioNTech ha terminato la fase sperimentale con un «tasso di efficacia» pari al 95%.
Gates ha già tenuto cinque tavole rotonde virtuali quest’anno con i dirigenti farmaceutici, allo scopo di informare il pubblico sui progressi medici nella cura del Covid-19.
La Gates Foundation sta lavorando per garantire un vaccino contro il coronavirus anche alle persone più bisognose del pianeta.
