Questa è la storia di Justin Gavin, l’adolescente che è stato protagonista di un eroico salvataggio quando si è trovato davanti a un’auto in fiamme, con una mamma e i suoi tre figli a bordo.
Ci troviamo a Waterbury, nello stato americano del Connecticut. Justin, giovane 18enne nativo del posto, mentre passeggiava in strada ha notato che un’auto aveva preso fuoco nel bel mezzo del traffico. Numerosi automobilisti hanno cercato di avvertire la conducente della vettura di cosa stesse succedendo, ma lei non riusciva a capire.
La giovane donna alla guida era in compagnia dei suoi tre figli. Il più grande ha 9 anni, il secondo ne ha 4 mentre l’ultimo solo 1 anno. Senza pensarci neanche un minuto, è stato allora che Justin ha inseguito l’auto a piedi ed è riuscito a fermarla. Agendo con rapidità e decisione, ha aperto le portiere e ha messo in salvo la giovane mamma e i suoi 3 figli. Dopo pochi istanti il veicolo è stato completamente inghiottito dalle fiamme.
Per elogiare ufficialmente e pubblicamente il coraggio dimostrato da questo ragazzo eroico, il Dipartimento di Polizia della città statunitense gli ha assegnato una medaglia. Nel video qui in basso il racconto della vicenda.
