Lancia l’allarme Carlo Palermo, segretario del maggiore dei sindacati dei medici ospedalieri italiani, Anaao-Assomed.
“Gli ospedali non sono pronti a far fronte ad un’epidemia esponenziale“, avverte Palermo.
I casi di Covid-19 in Italia continuano ad aumentare.
In rialzo ci sono anche i numeri riguardanti i ricoveri in regime ordinario ed in terapia intensiva.
A tal proposito il segretario dell’Anaao-Assomed spiega la situazione all’Ansa.
“Gli ospedali italiani potranno reggere almeno per cinque mesi ed al momento la situazione è gestibile, ma se dovessimo assistere ad un aumento esponenziale dei casi come sta accadendo in altri Paesi come la Francia allora il sistema ospedaliero avrebbe una tenuta di non oltre due mesi“.
“Già adesso si iniziano a registrare delle criticità, a partire dal personale sanitario carente e dalle strutture che non sempre garantiscono percorsi differenziati”, prosegue Palermo.
“Ci vogliono più tamponi, bisogna allargare subito il sistema di resistenza alla pandemia. Il tracciamento a scuola è cruciale. Per farlo servono più test, reagenti, macchinari per processarli e personale per fare i prelievi”, suggerisce Carlo Palermo.
“Tutto questo ha un costo. Se le risorse sono scarse, c’è un finanziamento europeo all’interno del Mes (supporto alla crisi pandemica) che mette a disposizione dell’Italia 36 miliardi, in tranche da 5 miliardi al mese. Possiamo averli in tempi brevissimi a un tasso di interesse dello 0,1%”, ha spiegato, insistendo sulla necessità di “fare più tamponi per far funzionare e lavorare in sicurezza la scuola, gli studenti, le loro famiglie, i professori e gli operatori scolastici. Fare i tamponi è l’argine contro la diffusione dell’epidemia”.
Ora non resta che sperare in un abbassamento della curva di contagio.
