Origini del coronavirus a Wuhan? La Cina insiste nel sostenere come sia necessario “ampliare la prospettiva” e l’area delle ricerche dell’Oms sulla ‘nascita’ della pandemia di Covid.
“C’è consenso tra gli scienziati sul fatto che il luogo in cui è stato inizialmente segnalato non sia necessariamente quello in cui il virus è comparso la prima volta”, ha detto durante una conferenza stampa a Pechino l’esperto cinese Liang Wannian, a capo degli scienziati del gigante asiatico che hanno lavorato con i colleghi dell’Oms.
“Sulla base di questo – ha aggiunto, secondo le dichiarazioni riportate dalla Cnn – la prospettiva di tracciamento delle origini del virus deve essere più ampia”. La storia, ha sostenuto ancora Liang secondo l’agenzia ufficiale cinese Xinhua, “insegna che solitamente ci vuole molto tempo per individuare le origini di nuove malattie infettive”.

Il Covid 19 potrebbe venire dall’Italia, scriveva a novembre scorso il New York Post, con il consueto stile aggressivo, sullo studio che ipotizzava la presenza del coronavirus in Italia già a settembre 2019. Il lavoro condotto dall’Istituto nazionale tumori (Int) di Milano, in collaborazione con l’università degli Studi del capoluogo lombardo, l’università di Siena e VisMederi srl aveva infatti suscitato l’attenzione dei media di diversi paesi. Spingendo il New York Post, sulla base di un articolo del britannico Times, ad affermare – come recitava un titolo online – “La Cina suggerisce che l’Italia potrebbe essere il luogo di nascita della pandemia Covid-19”.
“La Cina sta usando un nuovo studio… per sollevare dubbi sulla convinzione che la nazione asiatica sia stata il luogo di nascita della pandemia. A Pechino, funzionari stanno dando risalto ad un nuovo studio. Questo suggerisce che il contagio possa aver avuto origine nella nazione europea (l’Italia, ndr) a settembre, tre mesi prima che venisse confermata la diffusione nella città di Wuhan, a lungo ritenuta l’epicentro”, si leggeva.
Secondo il New York Post, la Cina in passato aveva ‘candidato’ la Spagna al ruolo di focolaio originale e acceso i riflettori anche sull’esercito statunitense, sospettato di aver portato il virus a Wuhan ad ottobre 2019 durante i Giochi mondiali militari. Secondo il Post, toccava poi all’Italia. Il Times, d’altra parte, aveva dato spazio alle parole di Zhao Lijian, portavoce del ministero degli Esteri: “Ancora una volta questo dimostra che tracciare l’origine del virus è una complessa questione scientifica che dovrebbe essere lasciata agli scienziati. E’ un processo fluido che può coinvolgere numerosi paesi”.
