Maria Lobefaro – Aumenta il numero delle vittime del Covid fra gli operatori scolastici pugliesi. Al nome di Giustina Brigido, la collaboratrice dell’istituto San Francesco d’Assisi di Polignano a Mare morta a 39 anni nei primi giorni di dicembre, e di Gianni Cupertino Sardone, 65enne docente di tecnologia ad Altamura vittima del Coronavirus, si aggiunge quello di Maria Lobefaro, 44 anni compiuti il 5 dicembre scorso, scomparsa nella notte all’ospedale di Perinei di Altamura dopo una lotta contro il virus iniziata il 31 gennaio.
Maria era docente di sostegno al primo circolo didattico Hero Paradiso di Santeramo in Colle e, secondo la famiglia, è lì che avrebbe contratto il virus.
“Non aveva malattie pregresse, ma purtroppo era obesa”, racconta il fratello Beppe Lobefaro, anche lui insegnante come Maria e le altre due sorelle. La polmonite interstiziale venuta a galla insieme con le prime difficoltà nella respirazione non ha fatto sconti.
Maria Lobefaro è deceduta a 44 anni
“Ha colpito entrambi i polmoni”, ricorda il fratello della vittima. Lo stesso che nei giorni scorsi ha fatto un appello alla donazione del plasma iperimmune da parte di chi ha incontrato il virus nel recente passato: “Ma è stato tutto inutile”. Maria ha speso la sua vita per la scuola. “Era tutto per lei, era la sua missione”, aggiunge il fratello. La donna viveva insieme con la madre 70enne, anche lei positiva al virus e anche lei intubata nella Rianimazione Covid dell’ospedale Miulli di Acquaviva delle Fonti.
“Credo che – annota il fratello della vittima – si sia trattato di un’infezione legata al lavoro perché il sindaco ha sospeso l’attività in tutte le scuole di Santeramo dopo che 36 casi di contagio sono risultati in qualche modo riconducibili alle scuole”.
È stato il primo cittadino, Fabrizio Baldassarre, a dare notizia della scomparsa di Maria sui social network: “Era una professionista seria e disponibile, pronta al sorriso e all’accoglienza degli alunni”.
