Intervista Lillo Covid – Lillo Petrolo racconta al Corriere della Sera come ha scoperto di aver contratto il Covid. Il virus lo ha portato al ricovero in ospedale, tra febbre a 40 e problemi di respirazione. Ecco le sue parole riportate da Huffinghton Post:
“All’inizio ho avuto dei sintomi influenzali, infatti speravo si trattasse di influenza. Ma quando ho perso olfatto e gusto ho capito e il tampone ha confermato: ero positivo”.
“Mi sono contagiato in un modo banale ma per questo è giusto che si sappia. Semplicemente ogni tanto mi capitava di abbassare la mascherina per respirare meglio. Giusto un attimo, ma lo facevo anche quando c’era altra gente. Una cosa che ora non farei assolutamente più: se uno ha bisogno di aria allora deve allontanarsi da tutti e poi abbassarla. Basta veramente poco: è un virus super contagioso”
“Io ero un uomo sano. In terapia intensiva ho visto 35enni intubati. Sicuramente se hai patologie sei svantaggiato, ma non è una regola, nel senso che puoi essere sano e sviluppare comunque una grave polmonite. La terapia intensiva era piena. Per fortuna non sono mani andato sotto il casco, mi sono fermato al momento prima: avevo l’ossigeno al massimo e lì ho capito che era l’ultimo passo. Lì mi sono spaventato. Poi, dopo due giorni lì, la polmonite ha iniziato a regredire”
“Ha sentito Greg quasi tutti i giorni. Mi è stato vicino, cercando anche di sdrammatizzare quando poteva. Ci siamo un po’ presi in giro. Mi diceva: dai che è la volta che finalmente dimagrisci. In effetto ho perso sei chili, speriamo di mantenere almeno quello”.
“Se sei una persona positiva non puoi che prendere la parte bella di questa esperienza. Si dirà: ‘Ma ci può essere una parte bella?’. Per me sì, ed è la saggezza che ti ritrovi che ti spinge a rivedere l’importanza che dai alle cose. In questi giorni sto apprezzando tutto: anche prendere il caffè con due biscotti la mattina, con mia moglie, è un momento di vera felicità. Tante piccole cose che prima nemmeno notavo, che davo per scontato. Ma che adesso riconosco come pura felicità. Penso davvero che sia migliorato tutto il mio modo di vivere”.
