È iniziato il maggio della nostra salvezza. Un mese decisivo per le vaccinazioni, in cui l’Italia potrà fare davvero il salto di qualità e tornare a guardare al futuro. Ieri alle 17 il report del governo contava 20.524.435 dosi inoculate (per un totale di 6.176.903 persone completamente immunizzate e altre 8.170.629 con una sola dose in corpo). C’è stato un lieve rallentamento dovuto al fine settimane, ma la falcata di oltre 500mila dosi da oggi dovrebbe tornale a essere la norma.
Nel target del commissario Francesco Paolo Figliuolo ogni giorno da oggi al 13 maggio dovrebbero essere effettuate 500mila inoculazioni, con un rallentamento solo il prossimo fine settimana (350mila al giorno l’8 e il 9 maggio) Anche se lo stesso Figliuolo è sicuro che «la macchina possa salire molto più su dei 500 mila», come detto in un’intervista a Repubblica. Ma anche solo mantenendo la media di mezzo milione di dosi, entro fine maggio saremo a 35 milioni, a fine giugno a 50, a fine luglio a 65, a fine agosto a 80 e avremo così raggiunto l’obiettivo dell’immunità di gregge, che possiamo fissare al 70 per cento delle 100 milioni di dosi necessarie a immunizzare tutta la popolazione «over 16».
Generale Figliuolo: “Stiamo pensando ad utilizzare le scuole come hub vaccinali”
Calcoli un po’ spannometrici ma che ci rassicurano. Figliuolo, ieri a Roma per inaugurare un nuovo grande hub vaccinale nel centro commerciale Porta di Roma, ha ieri fatto un bilancio con le sue luci («sugli over 80 anni ci siamo») e le sue ombre («sugli over 60 la media è bassa») e ha fissato la sua road map: «Capisco la voglia di aprire a quelli sotto. Concentriamoci sugli over 60, soprattutto sui 65. Il piano va seguito in maniera ordinata. Come prima cosa dobbiamo mettere in sicurezza le persone che possono avere conseguenze gravi. Quando avremo messo in sicurezza gli over 65 potremo aprire a tutte le classi di età». Questo vorrà dire immunizzare le categorie produttive: «I vaccini arriveranno, maggio sarà un mese di transizione. Dopo pensiamo all’estate».
Figliolo è soddisfatto e si vede. Sa che rischia di entrare nel Pantheon dei santi di questa pandemia, ma non ha tempo per autocelebrarsi perché ancora ci sono tante criticità: ancora poche certezze sulla regolarità delle forniture di dosi da parte delle multinazionali a cui siamo affidati (Pfizer, Johnson&Johnson, AstraZeneca, Moderna), regioni che zoppicano, il rischio che le varianti scompaginino tutto il lavoro fatto o allontanino il traguardo. Meglio non distrarsi, quindi. E raggiungere l’obiettivo di inoculare «sempre il 90 per cento di dosi, questo è lo sviluppo del piano». Attualmente l’Italia è all’83,1 per cento di dosi inoculate rispetto a quelle ricevute, quindi bisogna implementare l’efficienza del sistema, soprattutto nelle regioni come Calabria, Sicilia, Sardegna e (un po’ a sorpresa) Alto Adige sono sotto quota 80.
Una delle chiavi è aumentare il numero degli hub vaccinali. A tutto ieri ne erano attivi 2.463, ma sconta di aumentare la potenza di fuoco con altri strumenti: le farmacie, i medici di base, la dislocazione nel corso dell’estate di hub vaccinali nelle località di villeggiatura e anche l’utilizzo delle scuole. «Ci stiamo pensando, come si faceva una volta, negli anni Settanta», dice Figliuolo.
