E’ ancora una volta Massimo Galli a lanciare l’allarme.
Direttamente dall’ospedale Sacco di Milano, il Prof. Galli, analizza la situazione: “In ospedale lo sconforto, nel personale, è tangibile. Il reparto, almeno da noi, somiglia già molto a quello dello scorso marzo“.
Lo dice Massimo Galli, primario di Malattie infettive al Sacco di Milano, parlando dell’emergenza Covid in un’intervista al Corriere della Sera.
“Qualcuno, alla sola idea di rivivere quella esperienza, non ha trattenuto le lacrime“, racconta Galli.
“Un déjà vu che avremmo volentieri evitato, che impatta su tutti noi anche psicologicamente”, aggiunge.
E sull’aumento della curva di contagio: “In realtà i tecnici veri lo temevano da tempo. Se un’epidemia prende un determinato andamento, puoi prevedere come si espanderà e in quali tempi, senza essere un mago”.
La ripresa di forza dell’epidemia era prevedibile? “Era chiaro che la situazione sarebbe andata presto a peggiorare. Ora o si trova la maniera di arrestare il processo o siamo nei guai“, dice l’infettivologo.
“Non ci troveremmo di fronte all’attuale necessità di inasprimento delle regole se questa estate si fosse prestata più attenzione ad evitare la trasmissione di un virus che non si era mai sognato né di sparire, né di perdere capacità infettante e di patogenicità”, rimarca Galli, che risponde così a chi domanda se la riapertura delle scuole possa aver inciso.
“Il conseguente movimento di persone può aver contribuito all’aumento dei casi. È spiacevole dirlo. Anche se l’infezione tra i giovani si diffonde più fuori che dentro la scuola“.
Nei mesi scorsi si è parlato di nuova normalità; ora invece arrivano le prime limitazioni.
“Se non mantieni le precauzioni, e cioè se non sacrifichi qualcosa della vita di sempre, le limitazioni sono per forza dietro l’angolo. La realtà ci costringe a capire ed accettare che alcune cose non sono temporaneamente possibili“.
Niente più calcetto e aperitivi? “Tutto quello che non è essenziale ed è potenzialmente pericoloso come occasione di diffusione del virus dovrà necessariamente essere evitato, per la sicurezza di tutti”.
