Il mezzo è rientrato da poco a Pratica di Mare a causa delle proibitive condizioni meteo. Il segnale è stato trovato con la strumentazione “Imsi Catcher”. Quest’ultimo consente di individuare i telefoni cellulari, indipendentemente dalle celle telefoniche, nel raggio di diverse centinaia di metri.
Sono andate avanti tutta la notte le ricerche delle quattro persone di Avezzano disperse in zona Valle Majelama, sul massiccio del Velino, in Abruzzo. E sono riprese stamattina all’alba da parte delle squadre del soccorso alpino e speleologico d’Abruzzo e della Guardia di finanza, partite ieri sera appena è scattato l’allarme da parte del papà della ragazza che ieri mattina era andata con gli amici in montagna, preoccupato perché la figlia in serata non era ancora tornata a casa.
Ieri notte è decollato dalla base di Pratica di Mare anche un elicottero dell’aeronautica militare a dare manforte. A chi? agli 11 uomini, due squadre del soccorso alpino e una delle fiamme gialle, che con gli sci hanno battuto valle Majelama, cercando di seguire il percorso dei quattro dispersi. Si tratta di Tonino Durante, 60 anni, titolare di una storica coltelleria; Gianmauro Frabotta, 33, figlio del proprietario di un noto negozio di alimentari; Gianmarco Degni, 26, figlio del titolare di un negozio di articoli sportivi; la fidanzata di quest’ultimo,Valeria Mella, 25enne, figlia di un maresciallo dei carabinieri. Sono tutti e quattro amanti della montagna ed escursionisti esperti, conosciuti ad Avezzano.
Durante la notte, l’elicottero dell’aeronautica militare, l’unico con i visori notturni in grado di volare al buio e con visibilità scarsa per le difficili condizioni meteo, ha fatto salire a bordo alcuni tecnici del soccorso alpino. E ha poi sorvolato sull’area di valle Majelama, controllando tutte le posso aree di riparo della zona: rifugi, bivacchi e stazzi. Le ricerche dall’alto hanno rilevato un segnale telefonico, ma il pezzo è dovuto rientrare per il maltempo.
Con il passare delle ore prende dunque maggior corpo tra i soccorritori l’ipotesi che i quattro possano essere stati travolti da una valanga data l’orografia dell’area nella quale sarebbe stata già individuata una slavina. Un sospetto che con il passare del tempo cresce e che viene confermato dal capo stazione del Soccorso alpino e speleologico di Avezzano (L’Aquila), Fabio Manzocchi, che ha aggiunto come attualmente i volontari stiano lavorando per trovarli vivi.
Le tracce di una valanga nell’area che in valle Majelama incrocia la valle del Bicchero erano state individuate dall’elicottero della Gdf. Ma potrebbe essere anche vecchie di qualche giorno. Le ricerche in tutta l’area proseguono da parte delle squadre del soccorso alpino e della guardia di finanza. Anche se le condizioni meteo e la scarsa visibilità rendono particolarmente difficili le operazioni. Tutti i rifugi della zona sono stati controllati senza risultato.
In aiuto dei soccorritori sono in arrivo anche due unità cinofile del Soccorso alpino valdostano. “Le operazioni – ha spiegato anche il Soccorso alpino valdostano – sono difficili a causa delle condizioni meteo avverse che non permettono l’impiego degli elicotteri. Inoltre, aumentano le difficoltà le numerose valanghe cadute nella zona e la mancanza di elementi utili a una localizzazione precisa”.
